API opened their machine shop at Lonsdale in South Australia in April of 2003. They employ three fully qualified Engine Reconditioners with many years of experience between them and are highly respected in the trade.

Berco is a huge Italian company with a factory six times the size of AAMI Stadium, {it’s where Alfa Romeo is made}. ENGINE BALANCING MACHINE / PIN BORER

The new addition to API’s Machine Shop is the Computerised Engine Balancing Machine. Frank Rismondo, API Engine’s Engine Reconditioner can recondition engines to better than manufacturing standards, enhancing efficiency in power and fuel economy.

BERCO CRANK GRINDING MACHINE

The crank grinding machine is very accurate, fully hydraulic and capable of being automatic for fast runs on cranks or manually. It has very accurate indexing heads which are gauged with micro dial indicators for perfect stroking. It also has automatic dressing for a continuously smooth round finish.

CYLINDER HEADS

API Engines stock a range of Second Hand, Reconditioned and New Cylinder Heads. New Cylinder Heads can be supplied assembled with Old or New Valves.

Berco Head Facer

The Head Facer that is hydraulic can also be automatic. It has a very quick clamping fixture capable of holding almost anything, including manifolds. It has single or multi cutters for aluminium, or stones for those stubborn diesel heads with pre comp chambers.

BERCO HEAD MACHINE

The Head Machine is capable of cutting any seat of any size. It is very robust, but at the same time, gentle for delicate multi-valves, small valve heads and with the range of solid carbide pilots.

Seats and inserting are concentric and very true.
